About Us
I am a great grandmother and great grandmother, and live in Forster, New South Wales, Australia. Whilst Family History has been my passion for many years, I also enjoy reading, spending time with the family and walking and playing with my adorable dog, Dusty.
Since retiring I have the time to spend researching and getting to know my ancestors. I am also delving into DNA and have identified many cousins and verified most of the ancestral lines.
On our paternal side, our Swedish and Jersey great grandfathers have been the subject of family lore since I can remember. The stories told by my grandmother were exciting and both great grandfathers held mysteries to be solved. Over the years other members of the family held documents, photos and papers relating to our ancestors, however with the advent of technology there are many exciting documents available at the touch of fingers.
Researching the ancestors have helped me to find cousins throughout the world and each new "find" leads to an exciting journey into the past.
Most of the mysteries surrounding our two paternal great grandfathers, including the smashing down of a giant brick wall!
As my cousin, Barbara and I are double cousins, the blog will now include ALL of the ancestors from both maternal and paternal sides of our families. There are some interesting rogues among them and I look forward to blogging their stories.

G'day Sandra and Barbara,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great blog concentrating on two people to start with and now expanding to other members of your families. Have you had many cousins visit the blog and leave comments or get in touch with you with further information?
Thanks Sue. I did place a link on my own Facebook page however no feedback or questions! I have added a lot more labels to the blogs and so hopefully will get more hits. Actually reassessing the whole blog at the moment, and thankful for hints I have from members on the Australian Local & Family History bloggers.
